Early Days & Old Jobs

From opera houses to television studios, Hall Stage has designed and built equipment for venues across the UK and the world. These early works reflect the innovation that continues to define us.

Former Sites

Hall Stage hasn’t always been located in Kent. The company has had many factories in locations such as Lambeth – London, Downham Market – Norfolk, Luton and Borehamwood on the doorstep of Elstree Studios and the East Enders set, to name but a few.

Nona Works

While in Lambeth, the site Hall Stage was on, originally known as the Anaconda Works, became affectionately called “Nona Works” as over time the lettering faded. The site remained the beating heart of Hall Stage’s craft and innovation for decades.

The Gate Studios

During the 80s and 90s Hall Stage shared a site in Borehamwood in the buildings of the Gate Studios, where in forma days, films such as  As You Like It starring Laurence Olivier, where filmed.

Google Maps in the 60s

Anyone remember when maps were on something called paper? Here’s an old copy of a map to find us at Nona works back in the day.
